Professionals on the Move

    Seal all boxes and label clearly with room identification (Kitchen, Bath, Hall Closet, Bedroom, Attic, etc.)  

    Do not include any
hazardous items in the move.  
    (For more information, see the section below labeled "Do not pack the following items")                                            
   

    Defrost, clean and dry freezer and refrigerator 2 days prior to move. Also disconnect water lines.        

    You may leave clothes (only) in dresser drawers.

    Be prepared! Have dressers, tables, shelves, etc. cleared and ready to move.        

    Cancel utilities, delivery services, etc.  

    Don't forget to change your address with the post office.

    Arrange to have your sitter watch the children on move

    Have a plan where the items will be placed in the new home.

    Remove linens from beds.

    Prepare a Backup CD for your computer files

    Moving day can also be very stressful for our four-legged little friends.  Try to make all the necessary
    accommodations for your pets to make their transition as smooth as possible.  Visit the

    Disconnect appliances(check with service expert for safety procedures)

    Wardrobe Boxes - We offer free use of our wardrobe boxes.  They will hold approximately
    2 feet of closet space of clothing.  The clothing never leaves the hanger and will be transported to your new
    home wrinkle-free.  You can use the bottom space for shoes, purses, etc. Another good use for
    wardrobe boxes is to hang your curtains/drapes.



                       
                    Do not pack the following items!
    Hazardous Items Not Allowed For Transportation - By law, we can not transport any items that are hazardous for the protection of
      our drivers and the safety of  your household goods.  It is your responsibility as the shipper to make sure these items are not included in the move.
      Below is a compiled list of the common household hazardous items.  If there is an item that you are questioning whether to pack or not (and it is not
      on the list below), please call us or ask the driver before adding to the shipment.

     Firearms/Explosives -Ammunition -Fireworks - Matches/Lighters - Chemistry Sets - Batteries ( Home or Auto) - Paint - Turpentine - Varnishes -        
     Any Aerosols - Fire Extinguisher - Propane Tanks Pesticides - Fertilizers - Antifreeze - Cleaning Solvents - Bleach - Ammonia - Nail Polish
     Remover

    Perishables - Frozen/refrigerated foods can not be maintained at the proper food safe temperature during transportation.

    Live Plants -  Most plants need to be maintained at safe temperatures and could go into shock. Also, they may harbour insects which could be in          
    violation of health inspections to transport the plant (risking the possibility of spreading an insect carrying a disease).

You must personally handle the transportation of the above items.  It is your responsibility to see
that they are not included in the shipment.  If you have any questions regarding an item, please
ask the driver or call our office before adding it to the load.
